Cultivation Guide For  Sabdariffa

Climatic Requirements

• The buyer must determine whether the varieties of seed purchased are suitable for the local conditions in their area.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm to hot climates (20–35°C). Cannot tolerate frost.

• Rainfall: Prefers 800–1600 mm annual rainfall, but is drought-tolerant once established.

• Sunlight: Requires full sun exposure for optimal growth and flowering.

Soil Conditions

• Best grown in well-drained sandy loam or loamy soils.

• pH range: 5.5 – 7.5 (slightly acidic to neutral).

• Avoid waterlogged or heavy clay soils.

Planting

• Spacing: 60–90 cm between plants, 1–1.5 m between rows.

• Planting depth: Sow seeds 2–3 cm deep.
